$$$. The Santi Mandala is not in Ubud. It is about 15 mins away by car. What you lose in convenience, you make up for in the Santi Mandala’s beautiful grounds and spectacular valley setting.

The villas are set in 3.5 hectares of hillside greenery. This means breathtaking contours and rice paddy views.

The large main swimming pool is well sited and the Santi Mandala has special areas for meditation and yoga practice.

The individual villas are spacious and come with all the modcons. Some of the villas are starting to show their age and could do with some maintenance though.

We especially liked the family pavilion, which have an upper and lower bedroom. All villas have lovely Balinese baths and some, inroom Jacuzzis.

Either way, the Santi Mandala is a good choice if you are looking for comfortable accommodation in a quiet enclave.
